Welcome

Eastgrove Cottage Garden is one of the finest cottage gardens in England and is located in Worcestershire, United Kingdom. It is open to the public and we specialise in cultivating hardy plants.

Eastgrove Cottage Garden Nursery

Eastgrove Cottage Garden surrounds a 17th century half-timbered yeoman farmhouse and extends around its magnificent brick and timber barn. It has a wonderful spirit of place comprising winding brick paths in the Secret Garden, splendid Long Border, Great Wall of China, ancient cloud hedge, 'Lloydian' hot spot, glade, grove and 0.8ha (2 acre) arboretum with labyrinth. Tremendous planting skill has resulted in subtle combinations of colour and form and constantly changing 'wow' factors. Always worthy of a visit and surprisingly still astounding in autumn.

STOP PRESS!

Due to a health problem Malcolm and Carol have decided to close finally on October 9th THIS YEAR, 2009.

We shall be open on Thursdays and Fridays from September 10th, 2 - 5 pm.

Therefore this Autumn is your very last chance to visit and be inspired by this world renowned cottage garden.

We have had 34 wonderful years of welcoming people to this amazing place.   We thank all those plantaholics who have spurred us on and kept our enthusiasm alive.

News

Special Sunday with traditional home-made teas in the orchard.

Sunday June 14th 2009 2-5 pm. Entrance for National Gardens Scheme and teas for St Mary's Church Shrawley.

Lovely 2 acre aboretum

The aboretum, now in its fourth year is becoming very exciting. The wide "Ride" keeps views open. A grass labyrinth fascinates young and old who follow it as monks did in medieval times: "The Seat of Hope" was created on the day after the Tsunami and "The Thinking Stool" made from a Nepalese cart wheel gives individuals the chance to savour the peace of this place among the trees.

Royal Horticultural Society Recommended Garden

Since 2003 we have been a Royal Horticultural Society Recommended Garden.

A very well run and tidy nursery lies on the eastern flank of the garden. We grow all the plants ourselves so that we can make sure they are of the highest quality and we happily give help and advice about their care and well being when they leave us. Well over 2000 varieties can be seen growing in the garden. Many of these are listed in the Plant Finder including some unusual plants. 2009 will be the golden wedding anniversary of Carol and Malcolm - they are no longer spring chickens - come and see this wonderful garden soon.

Mail orders are not undertaken - A visit is esssential - especially to sample Malcolm's very special home-made ice-cream.!

Very good light lunches and teas are available at the tea rooms opposite Great Witley church - just two miles away - please book by telephone with the church direct.

Great Witley church lies beside the ruins of Witley Court and is the finest baroque church in England - not to be missed when so near.
